We are North, we live, work and play in the North. The North is in beautiful Peace River in Northeastern British Columbia. Our great region provides beautiful breathtaking views and provide many backdrops for many different types of events, photo sessions and more
I've lived here since I was 10 and it's been amazing to meet some very special people (many of which include my closest friends)
I was born in New Westminster, British Columbia (a suburb of Metro Vancouver) and moved to Dawson Creek at the age of ten. At the time it was not my favorite place to be as I had to leave all my friends behind and start a new life. It however was where God wanted (yes, I am one of those people) Over the past 18 years I have established some incredible friendships with incredible people not only in the speed skating world but out in the community through my work, church, community involvement and more. I completed high school with some amazing people, glad my graduation class was only 10 students as I went to a private Christian school from grade 9 through 12. After graduation I took a 1-year general studies, I do however either want to pull my business full time or go back to school and complete a Education Assistant Diploma
Over the years my faith has been a huge part of my life, my friends will tell you that I am a dedicated Christian who loves God, His Word and serving. I enjoy serving in my church as a greeter, usher, and Sunday School helper. I have been attending the same church for the past 15 years and not thinking about changing anytime soon. I love the people who I attend church with. I have met some amazing people though church as well. My first experience with church in general was back in 2002, prior to my adoption and going to church with my aunt Sandra. I then began going to church shortly after coming to Dawson Creek and have been going ever since. It is something I have been taught is to not give up going to church.
I enjoy a wide range of music from country to classic rock. My favorite genres are Christian music and country music. My Spotify playlist for just Christian music alone is 35 hours long, with my country playlist at just over 20 hours long. I enjoy live music as well; I aim to attend at least one concert per year at our events center in town. I also attend our local music festival (live local bands, food, water slide and more family fun for FREE) with friends as it is a great weekend just to hang out with friends and have a fun time.
Speed Skating has been a part of my life since 2006, I tried it for a year and just never quit as I enjoyed it so much. I have attended a wide range of events over the years not only as an athlete but as a coach. Some of my favorite events include 2009 BC Long Track Championships at the Richmond Olympic Oval, FSJ Long Track Camp (many of my friends will always remember this weeklong skating event). Some events I have coached in addition to our local events and BCLT include coaching kids at the FSJ LT Camp in 2019, and attending the 2020 BC Winter Games in Fort St. John, BC. I am currently obtaining my Intro to Comp certification to have an additional coach with the club. In addition to coaching, I am the current Vice President with the Dawson Creek Speed Skating Club.
I've ran for our local elections in 2022 for a spot on city council, while not successful, I continue to bring my concerns to the current council. Some issues in our community include lack of public transit, community services, activities for low-income individuals and families
